The journalist's work goes through many stages, among them that of informing and communicating. But, before informing others, it is necessary to inform ourselves first. For this purpose, it is necessary to resort to reliable media, which contain truthful and contrasted information. However, the layout and structure of the website also have an influence.
With these requirements in mind, here are my three recommendations:
The Guardian is one of my first bets when it comes to information. Of course, it complies with all the characteristics previously mentioned in relation to reliability. Although it is a British media, it is very focused on global news. Another of its advantages is how well structured it is, putting the latest news on the first page and ordering the rest with labels such as sports, culture, environment... It makes it very easy to go straight to the information you are interested in.
BBC News is another of the media outlets to which I resort without hesitation. The reasons are very similar to those of The Guardian. But more than its website or newspaper, I would highlight its Global News Podcast on Spotify. At least one podcast of less than 30 minutes with the latest news is published every day. One of its advantages is the ease with which you can get information, allowing you to simultaneously perform tasks while listening.
Sky Sports is my last recommendation. In The new era of journalism post I mentioned my passion for sports, so I could not miss a media dedicated to them. What I like the most about this media is their information sources. One of the most trusted journalists in the world of sport writes for Sky Sports. This is Fabrizio Romano. His contacts are immense and his margin for error is practically nil. Undoubtedly one of the best sources of information and, consequently, the medium for which he writes.
Look for your trusted media outlets, where you feel comfortable, but most importantly, where the information is truthful. Informing is important, but being informed is even more important.
